Sexual Assault Suspect Sought NR17239ml

Van Nuys: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Area are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 5:45 a.m., the victim was walking in the area of 14000 block of Vanowen Street in the City of Van Nuys. As she was approaching her apartment, she was confronted by the suspect, a male Hispanic, brown eyes, bald head, standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 40-45 years of age.

The suspect stepped in front of the victim and engaged in a conversation and then suddenly, without warning reach out to grab her. The victim resisted and the suspect attempted to take her pants off.

The struggle continued with the suspect and victim wrestling on the ground. The victim was finally able to wrestle free from the suspect and, the suspect fled from the location.
