Fiduciary Elder Abuse Suspect Arrested NR19144ml

Los Angeles: This morning, Scottsdale and Phoenix Police Department in collaboration with LAPD Commercial Crimes Detectives arrested Keya Morgan on an outstanding Arrest Warrant issued by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Morgan will go before a judge and eventually extradited to Los Angeles to face charges.

Mr. Stan Lee, the 95-year old Marvel Comic Book creator/icon who passed away on November 12, 2018 from pre-existing medical conditions, had been the victim in an elder abuse estate investigation that began in March 2018.

Mr. Lee had a large estate worth over an estimated $50 million with no clear protection from opportunists who could insert themselves into his life and take control of it. Allegations of financial elder abuse came to the forefront involving former associate/business manager, Suspect-Keya Morgan, (a.k.a., Keyarash Mazhari).

It had been revealed that no one had clear legal authority to act on Mr. Lee's behalf; yet, Morgan exerted his control and influence over Lee.

During the course of this extensive financial investigation, allegations of Grand Theft/Fiduciary Elder Abuse against Morgan had been made with regard to monies collected from business transactions (autograph signing sessions from May 10-12, 2018 totaling over $262,000) that Lee never received (from Morgan).
The method of operation of financial-abuse opportunists is gaining the trust of the elder in hopes for the what may be a big pay-off in the long-run, or what is phrased as the "the long con."

Also, allegations of false imprisonment came into play from June 8-11, 2018, when Morgan removed Lee from his Hollywood Hills residence to a secured Beverly Hills condominium during the late night hours of June 8, 2018.

Fortunately, Lee was removed from Morgan's control on June 11, 2018 when Morgan was arrested by LAPD, Commercial Crimes Division detectives for generating false 911 calls on May 30th and May 31st 2108.

In both instances, Morgan was using this tactic to further deceive Lee into believing he was in danger and needed to be moved from his home to a more secured condominium where Morgan had more control over Lee.

The investigation was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The District Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant for Morgan for the below charges:

1.(1) count 368(F) PC- False Imprisonment-Elder Dependent Adult (felony)
2.(3) counts 368(D) Grand Theft from Elder or Dependent Adult 186.11(a)(3) Special Aggravated White Collar Crime loss over $100K (felony)
3.(1) count 368(C) PC- Elder or Dependent Abuse adult (misdemeanor)

Bail is set for $300,000.
