"Murder/Suicide Investigation in North Hollywood"
 

North Hollywood – North Hollywood Detectives are investigating the Murder/Suicide death of a 55 year-old male Hispanic, and a 38 year-old female Hispanic.
On June 26, 2001, at approximately 12:45 p.m., North Hollywood patrol officers and detectives responded to an "ADW, Shots Fired" call at 6050 Lankershim Boulevard at the Don Felix Restaurant. The suspect was reportedly still inside the location armed with a handgun.
Witnesses who were inside of the restaurant at the time of the shooting stated a female had been shot and the suspect was holding a gun to his head. While the detectives and officers were deploying outside, a single gunshot was heard from within the restaurant. The suspect was observed falling to the floor next to the female victim.
Detectives and officers entered the restaurant and observed the victim and suspect on the floor in the northeast section of the restaurant. There were no signs of life and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed the suspect, identified as Rodolfo Morales of Los Angeles and the victim, identified as Irma Yolanda Montepeque of North Hollywood were husband and wife. They were currently separated.
North Hollywood Homicide Detectives Mc Gilvary and Bancroft are investigating this incident as a "Murder/Suicide".
