North Hollywood Homicide Investigation

Studio City – On Friday, May 4, 2001, at approximately 9:40 p.m., North Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an assault and shots fired in the 11400 block of Woodbridge Street.
The officers were met by Mr. Robert Blake, an actor, who reported that his wife, Bonny Bakley, had been attacked. The officers observed Ms. Bakley in the couple’s personal vehicle and noted that Ms. Bakley had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
Ms. Bakley was transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank where she was pronounced dead.
Mr. Blake was interviewed by North Hollywood Detectives.
On May 5, Robbery-Homicide Division Detectives served a search warrant at the couple’s residence in furtherance of the investigation.
The suspect(s) have not been identified and the motive for the crime has not been established.
