Detectives Investigate Two Separate Shootings

Los Angeles: On Monday, November 11, 2002, at approximately 2:10 p.m., the victim, 37 year-old William Henry Cosey, was standing in front of Booker’s Liquor Store, located at 5879 South Figueroa Street. Three male Black suspects pulled up in a white Nissan and fired several rounds at the victim. The suspects then fled the location southbound in their vehicle. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The motive appears to be gang-related.
The suspects and weapons remain outstanding.
On November 12, 2002, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the victim, 40 year-old Gregory Keith Flynn, was inside of Royal Aces Motorcycle Club located at 8916 South Western Avenue. A male suspect approached the victim who was sitting at the bar and without warning, shot the victim in the head. The suspect then fled the location on foot.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the location.
The motive is unknown.
The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
These two shootings do not appear to be related. 77th Street Homicide Unit Detectives are conducting the investigations. Anyone with information in these shootings should contact 213-485-1383.
