Security Officer Shot After Denying Club-Patron Entry

Los Angeles: On November 17, 2002, at 12:30 P.M., victim John Smith, a 33 year old male African American was shot and killed at a location on the 6000 block of South Broadway. Mr. Smith was working as a security officer at a party when he had a confrontation with the suspect. The suspect, who was denied entry into the party, left the location and returned a short time later and shot the victim. The victim was transported to Martin Luther King Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect has been described as a male Hispanic, 18-25 years of age. There is no further description on the suspect at this time.
