Updating Information on Bible Holding Suspects

Los Angeles: On November 18, 2002, at approximately 12:00 p.m., in the 19100 block of Sherman Way, a lone female was returning home from her housekeeping job. She was approached at her apartment door by a male and female Hispanic couple. In Spanish, the couple told the victim that they would like to talk to her about the word of God. The male suspect held a bible in his hand. Once inside the victim’s house, the suspects pulled a gun and demanded cash and jewelry taking the woman’s life savings.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2000 gray compact. Detectives believe that there may be additional victims who have not come forward and are seeking the media’s assistance in getting the word out to the public.

Composite drawings are available at both Media Relations Section and West Valley Area Police Station.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 1-818-756-8546 during business hours. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, 1-877-LAWFULL, 1-877-529-3855.

This press release was prepared by Officer Grace Brady, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
