Man Killed Celebrating Cambodian New Year

Los Angeles: A Cambodian man was killed while attending services to celebrate the Cambodian New Year at a Temple in Rampart on Sunday.
Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the stabbing death of an approximately 21-year old Cambodian man. The victim was at the Watkhmer Temple at 1720 W. Beverly Boulevard on April 17, 2005, at about 9:20 p.m. when the suspect walked up to the victim and began to argue with him. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
Paramedics transported the victim to USC Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The suspect, described as a male Cambodian, approximately 20-25 years old, wearing a blue, white and yellow striped shirt and blue jeans, ran from the location.
The knife used in the stabbing was found at the scene and recovered by police.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until the family can be notified.
