"Detectives Need Help With Homicide Investigation"
 

Los Angeles: On April 3, 2004, at about 5:35 a.m., Rampart Area Patrol Officers responded to the area of Second Street and Emerald Street to investigate a call of a man down on the street. When the officers arrived, they observed a man down in the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body. Los Angeles City Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.
The investigation to this point has revealed little information regarding the circumstances surrounding this incident. The motive and the suspect(s) identity are unknown at this time.

The victim was identified as 21 year-old Maxwell Hazlett.
