Rampart Area Vice established a task force to address the blatant prostitution activity and related citizen complaints in the area of Olympic Boulevard and Alvarado Street. The goal is to send a message that the activity will not be tolerated and will be addressed by arresting street prostitutes. To achieve that goal, undercover operators will be utilized to obtain prostitution violations and deter the violators from returning. The long-term goal is to eliminate the problem and restore the quality of life to the area. The media will be utilized as a medium for public awareness.

To ensure the success of the ongoing operation and also identity of innocent people and police officers, the media is asked to respect the following:

Channel 34 has been selected through RTNA as the POOL CAMERA to film the actual undercover operators as they obtain violations. All other media are asked to not film actual operations because the presence of news crews and reporters will likely disrupt and endanger the operation itself. All media organizations are cordially invited to meet at the COMMAND POST LOCATION which is located at the parking lot at 1810 West James M. Wood Street (southwest corner of James M. Wood and Burlington Avenue for filming and interviews. ALL INTERVIEWS MUST PROVIDE OBSCURING OF POLICE OFFICER FACES, ESPECIALLY UNDERCOVER OFFICERS.
