Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Car Accident NR10591cj

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Central Traffic detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating any witnesses who saw a traffic collision that killed a 53-year-old Los Angeles resident.

On Dec. 5, 2010, at around 6:50 p.m., LAPD Central Traffic officers received a call of a traffic collision that occurred near the intersection of Alvarado and Court Streets.  When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a man lying on the street unresponsive.  Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the injured man to a nearby hospital where despite lifesaving efforts was pronounced dead on Dec. 14, 2010.  He has been identified as a 53-year-old Norbert Nikolaus Keilbach.

The detectives’ investigation revealed that Keilbach was crossing Alvarado Street when he was hit by a car that was traveling northbound on Alvarado Street.  The driver of the car left the scene failing to stop and provide identification or render aid.   There were no witnesses at the time of the collision and no description of the suspect’s car.
