Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s, West Traffic Division will kick off a weeklong event with a press conference for the annual "Safe Return to School Taskforce." The press conference will take place at the west side of Hobart Elementary School.
Captain Williams, Commanding Officer of West Traffic Division, will discuss pedestrian and vehicle safety issues. There will be a large contingent of uniformed motorcycle officers present, along with Wilshire Area patrol officers.
The purpose of this event is to inform both students and parents of the importance of being aware of safety issues, as they begin the new school year. Captain Williams will also provide parents with helpful safety tips for their children.
Hobart Elementary School has a diverse student population that includes a large number of Korean and Hispanic children. All media representatives are encouraged to attend this news event.
