29 Year-Old Shooting Victim Dies

Los Angeles: On Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at about 4:15 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding shots fired with a victim down in the area of the 15100 block of Parthenia Street in North Hills. Upon arrival at the location, the officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to Holy Cross Hospital. The victim was pronounced dead, hours after his arrival for medical treatment.
Devonshire Area detectives assumed investigative responsibility for the case. The victim has been identified as 29 year-old Robert Provencio of Arleta. The motive for this crime has not been established. The detectives are continuing their efforts to locate witnesses. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
