Man Stabbed and Killed During Family Dispute

Los Angeles: On Friday, September 17, 2004, at about 7:50 p.m., 33 year-old Emmett Moore Jr. was at his residence in the 1400 block of North Fries Avenue in Wilmington. A Fight broke out between Moore and his live-in girlfriend’s mother. During the fight, while Moore was assaulting his girlfriend’s mother, a juvenile son came to her aid. The juvenile stabbed Moore with a folding knife.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported Moore to a local hospital. Moore died a short time later at the hospital. The mother received contusions and scratches during the fight. She was treated and released.
The juvenile was questioned by homicide detectives and was released pending a review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
