Man Stabbed to Death in Hollywood NR13411cj

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollywood area officers arrested a 22-year-old Los Angeles resident Julio Caesar Velasquez for stabbing and killing a man in Hollywood.

On September 2, 2013, around 6:30 a.m., Hollywood area patrol officers responded to an assault call in the 2000 block of North Highland Avenue.  When the officers arrived they found a man suffering from his wounds.  The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  Officers searched the area and took Velasquez into custody a short distance from the crime scene.

Detectives’ investigation revealed that a 29-year-old male Hispanic from Los Angeles was involved in a dispute with Velasquez in front of a hotel.  During the argument, Velasquez stabbed the victim. Velasquez was arrested and booked for murder and is being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.  The victim’s identity is being withheld until immediate family has been notified.
