Suspect Stabs Sister to Death and Tries to Get Away NR13413sm

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) North Hollywood Division Officers arrested 22-year-old Mario Alejandro Martinez for stabbing his younger sister to death.

On Monday, September 2, 2013, around 6:45 p.m., North Hollywood Division patrol officers responded to a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 6000 block of Farmdale Avenue.

Officers discovered the victim, 19-year-old Raquel Martinez, who had sustained multiple stab wounds.  The victim was transported by paramedics to a local hospital where she died as a result from injuries.  Officers searched the area and arrested the suspect several blocks away from the crime scene. Officers later learned that Raquel Martinez was the suspect’s younger sister.

Mario Martinez was booked at Van Nuys Jail for murder and is waiting to be arraigned on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
