Man Shot to Death During Roadside Car Repair

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 28 year-old Don Wayne Caldwell Jr.
On January 5, 2003, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Caldwell was working on his vehicle in a parking lot at the corner of Adams Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. The suspect walked up to Caldwell, said a few words to him and then shot him. Caldwell, mortally wounded, fell to the ground as the gunman fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Transported to a local hospital, Caldwell failed to respond to medical treatment, and was pronounced dead by attending physicians.
