"Two Found Dead in a Ravine From Gunshot Wounds to the Head"
 

Los Angeles: On Thursday, October 2, 2003, at about 5:00 p.m., several 8-10 year-old juveniles, were riding their bicycles in the hillside area west of Valley Circle Boulevard in the Moore Canyon area of West Hills, when they discovered the decomposed remains of two people. The children immediately told their parents, who then phoned the police.
Officers from the West Valley Area Police Station responded to the location where they saw two bodies that were decomposed and un-identifiable. It appeared that the two bodies were those of young male adults. A handgun was found lying on top of one of the two bodies.
The investigation revealed that both decedents had been killed as a result of gunshot wounds to the heads and both appeared to have been self-inflicted.
Efforts to positively identify the bodies will be conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroners Office. At this time it appears that the deaths were both the result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds and this investigation is being handled as a probable double suicide.
