Los Angeles: Officers and civilian personnel from the Los Angeles Police Department, West Valley Area adopted over 100 senior citizens who reside at the Center at Parkwest, located across the street from the police station. These senior citizens, many of whom do not have family nor friends to visit them for the Holidays, listed their "Holiday Gift List" with needed household and personal items.
West Valley officers mobilized the community and collected the listed items that includes slippers, sweaters, blankets etc.
On Monday, December 17, 2001, at 2:00 pm, Holiday cheer will be delivered by a motorcycle-riding Santa along with West Valley LAPD personnel, who will deliver a Christmas tree and the Holiday Gifts to the elderly residents of the Center at Parkwest.
