Los Angeles Police Department, Operations-Valley Bureau, Deputy Chief John Sherman Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division, Detective William Bustos Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Kristina Kepner National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence representative Providence Holy Cross Medical Center trauma surgeon Representatives from the above entities will be available for interviews following the exercise which will conclude around 11:30 a.m.

Why:
For the first time in the San Fernando Valley, the California Highway Patrol’s “Every 15 Minutes” program will be presented to students at Birmingham Community Charter High School. Students will witness the stated wreckage of a DUI crash, see “bloodied” classmates pulled from the accident scene, watch paramedics treat and transport friends to a trauma center and see the “deaths” of two students. The goal of this presentation is to have young people think before they drink.
