Reward Offered in Homicide Investigation

What: Press Conference Requesting the Public’s Help in the Investigation of a Homicide”

When: Friday, August 1, 2003, at 12:00 p.m.

Where: 4915 South Hoover Street, the crime scene.

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of Dexter Rideout.

On Sunday, July 20, 2003, at about 11:00 a.m., 20 year-old Dexter Rideout was in the 4900 block of South Hoover Street, when he was approached on foot by unknown suspect(s). The suspects(s) then shot the victim several times, killing him at the scene.

Tom Riley, Rideout’s “Big Brother”, who is responsible for years of mentoring him, is offering $2,000.00 of his own money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for his murder.

The motive for the shooting and the suspect(s) identity are unknown at this time.
