Early Morning Drive-By Shooting Investigation

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male, name withheld pending notification of family, which occurred on July 28, 2002, at approximately 3:35 a.m.
Wilshire Area patrol officers responded to the scene of a shooting at 5900 West Venice Boulevard. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim who had been shot multiple times in his vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to witnesses, the victim was traveling eastbound on Venice Boulevard when three or four male suspects in an unknown type dark colored vehicle pulled up along side and brief exchange of words took place. At the end of the conversation, two of the suspects exited their vehicle and fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle. The suspects then fled the location southbound on Fairfax Avenue.
The suspects are only described as three or four male Blacks, 16-25 years of age.
