Los Angeles: On May 16, 2002, at 9:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives will conduct a press conference to announce a $25,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Edward Contreras. Contreras is wanted in connection with the fatal hit and run traffic collision that occurred on April 5, 2002 near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard, leaving 33 year old Lidia Reyes, dead at the scene and another person injured.
Witnesses identified the hit and run driver as Edward Contreras, the registered owner of the vehicle, and a resident of Arleta. A warrant for his arrest was issued and police have been unable to locate Contreras.
In order to assist detectives, Los Angeles Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski petitioned a reward for the arrest of Edward Contreras. The victim’s family members will be available for media interviews at the press conference.
