Suspect Who Killed Man with Baseball Bat Captured

Why:
On May 29, 2007, James McKinney, 41, was walking to a store in his nieghborhood when a man approached from behind and brutally attacked him with a baseball bat. Mr. McKinney died from his injuries five days later.

To capture the suspect, investigators distributed surveillance footage of the crime to media outlets, who aired the video on local television stations. A community member saw the coverage, recognized the suspect and notified police of his whereabouts.

The suspect was caught on June 13, 2007.

The witness who helped detectives break the case will be in attendance.
