Mid-Wilshire Restaurant Robbery Shown on Tape

September 6, 2007

Los Angeles: A female restaurant employee was brutally assaulted by a lone robber Sunday morning during a restaurant holdup in the Wilshire area of Los Angeles.

On September 2, 2007, around 6:20 a.m., a Black man entered the Carl’s Junior at 1611 South Western Avenue. The suspect jumped in behind the front counter and, in a continuous motion, kicked the employee in the face. The worker fell to the floor. The suspect demanded that she open the safe behind the counter. The employee, in fear for her life, opened the safe and the suspect removed money. He then jumped back over the counter and left the restaurant.

The victim sustained bruises to her face. No weapons were seen. Although the business was open at the time of the robbery, no patrons were inside.

The suspect was a male Black in his mid 20s. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.
