WHAT: Wilshire Area and West Traffic Memorial Run

WHEN: Thursday, December 22, 2016 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: LAPD Wilshire Station 4861 West Venice Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90019

WHO: Representative from Council President Herb Wesson, District 10 Representative from Councilmember David E. Ryu, District 4 Representative from Councilmember Paul Koretz, District 5 Command Staff, Operations-West Bureau Command staff, Wilshire Area Command staff, West Traffic Division Representatives from Wilshire Neighborhood Councils Representatives from businesses in the Wilshire Community

WHY: 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of Officer Mario Navidad who was killed in the line of duty on December 22, 1996. Wilshire and West Traffic Division will participate in a 2.0 mile run from Wilshire police station to the location of his death at 1075 S. Fairfax Avenue (7-11 parking lot). A memorial ceremony will be held at his dedication site at the end of the run. All members of the public are invited to come out and participate in this free event.
