Los Angeles: On Monday night, October 8, 2001, at approximately 8:30 p.m., victims, Sabrina Lynette Brown, a female Black, 32 years of age and her cousin, Derron Edward Brown, a male Black, 35 years of age, were inside Sabrina’s residence, located at the Dorset Village, 3100 block of West Slauson Avenue. Also at the residence were five of Sabrina’s children. Suspect Otto Glass, 35 years of age, Sabrina’s former common-law husband came to the front door armed with a handgun, knocked and demanded entry. The occupants denied him entry. Glass forced entry by kicking the front door in. Glass then cornered Sabrina and Derron in the bedroom and fired numerous rounds at them. Sabrina was shot in the head and died at the scene. Derron sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported him to Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. None of the children were physically injured.
Glass fled the scene on foot, but is known to drive a red, 1999 Dodge Neon and resides in the City of Lancaster, California. He is described as a male Black, 5’11, 200 lbs., his date of birth is August 12, 1966 and his California Driver’s license No. is C5884960. The motive for this crime is Domestic Violence and the weapon is still outstanding.
