"Drive-By Shooting Injures One Female
and One Male in South Central L.A."

Los Angeles – On Sunday, May 28, 2000, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Victim-1 Teresa Young, 22 years old, and Victim-2 Travis Williams, 20 years old were standing on the sidewalk in front of 5315 South Van Ness Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) drove up to the victims’ location in a possible newer model Dodge Neon, 2-door, blue in color. The suspect (driver) from the driver’s side of the vehicle fired several rounds from an unknown type semi-automatic weapon, striking both Victim Young and Victim Williams. Young sustained a gunshot wound to the head and Williams sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The suspects vehicle fled northbound Van Ness Avenue toward 52nd Street. The motive is unknown at this time and the suspect and weapon remain outstanding.

LAFD Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Victim Young and Victim Williams to a local hospital. Young is listed in critical condition and Williams is listed in stable condition.
