"Apparent Gang Related Shooting Leaves One Dead"

Los Angeles: On September 30, 2000, at approximately 1:20 am, a 30 year old male was walking eastbound on Gage Avenue from Western Avenue on the north side of the street. He had just left a night club at 6222 South Western Avenue.

Suspects yet to be identified approached the victim from the rear and shot the victim in the stomach. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Rescue Ambulance where he failed to respond to treatment and died as a result of the gunshot wound.

The suspects and weapon are still being sought and the motive appears to be gang related. The victim has been identified as Antonio Louis Rawls, a resident of Los Angeles.
