$50,000 Reward Detectives Seek Information on Christmas Night Shooting NR10604rf

Los Angeles:  Today, the Los Angeles Police Department announced a $50,000 reward sponsored by Councilmember Bernard C. Parks for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in a Christmas night shooting in South Los Angeles.

At about 10:30 p.m., 25-year-old Kashmier James was standing in the 1700 block of West 85th Street.  Two suspects, described as two male Blacks in their 20s, approached in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle (SUV).  One of the suspects exited the SUV and walked toward James.  The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple gunshots, striking James.  The suspect then ran back to the SUV, which was last seen southbound on Western Avenue from 85th Street.

James sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including one to her head.  James was pronounced dead at the scene.
