Information Wanted on Attempt Murder Investigation

WHO: Detectives from the LAPD’s Criminal Gang Homicide Division Representatives from LAPD Command Staff

WHY: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Criminal Gang/Homicide Division detectives are investigating the attempt murder of a 66 year old female that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 2, 2016. At approximately 2:30 a.m., 77th Division patrol officers received a radio call of a battery suspect at the East/ West Motel located at 7101 South Vermont Avenue. Officers arrived and discovered the victim, in one of the motel rooms, unconscious and severely beaten. She was transported to a local Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a person of interest, James Robinson McGee, may have been with the victim, but had fled the area prior to officer’s arrival. McGee is described as a male Black, with a date of birth of August 14, 1960, with black hair, brown eyes, 5’09 tall and weighing approximately 220 lbs. (PHOTO of Person of Interest on Display)
