WHY: There has been an increase in street robberies of electronic devices in areas throughout the City of Los Angeles. To reduce those robberies, the LAPD is working with the Los Angeles School Police and the University of Southern California Department of Public Safety Police in developing strategies to keep citizens people from becoming victims. The focus is directed towards high school and college students, bus and rail passengers, and those distracted while walking throughout the city with electronics.
