Working with The Community to End Street Gang Violence NR20095dm

May 7, 2020

Los Angeles: On May 6, 2020, several South Los Angeles community members fell victim to an unfortunate rash of unprecedented street gang violence. Most incidences occurred within a relatively short period of time. The Los Angeles Police Department and Operations-South Bureau understand that this naturally raises concerns within the community, and we would like the community to know that despite these unprecedented times, this type of violence will not be tolerated. In addition to deployment actions taken last night, the Los Angeles Police Department will be dedicating additional resources and asking the South Los Angeles community to join us in pushing for an end to this violence. Together we can make a difference.

If anyone has information regarding these shootings, please contact the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 800-222-TIPS. In the event you find yourself witnessing a crime, please call 911.
