Los Angeles: On Tuesday, October 31, 2000, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Mr. Delmin Hoff, a 25-year-old male Black resident of Los Angeles, was working inside the “Lean On Me Entertainment” studio located at 1758 South La Cienega Boulevard. Two male Black suspects entered the business, displaying handguns, and demanded money from Mr. Hoff. When Mr. Hoff did not comply with the suspects’ request, one of the suspects’ shot the victim in the leg. Mr. Hoff struggled with one of the suspects over the handgun and was then shot in his torso area, knocking him to the floor. The second suspect pointed his handgun at other people in the business, preventing them from leaving. A third male Black suspect then entered the business, also armed with a handgun.
All three suspects then took studio equipment, valued at $18,000 and left the location through the front door. According to witnesses’ statements, the suspects entered two different vehicles and fled southbound on La Cienega Boulevard from 18th Street.
Mr. Hoff was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries. He is listed in critical condition. The suspects have not been identified at this time and the investigation is on going.
