"One Dead Five Injured in Drive-By Shooting"

Los Angeles: On Sunday morning, December 17, 2000 at approximately 1:50 a.m., the victim, Terrel Riley, 24 years old was standing on the sidewalk with several individuals in front of the Beehive Nightclub located at 6209 South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Unknown suspect(s) drove by in a black Chevrolet Camaro, 2-door. The suspect(s) armed with an assault rifle fired into the crowd of individuals that were standing along side of Riley. Riley and five others sustained gunshot wounds. All six victims were transported by Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Units to local hospitals. The suspect(s) drove away at a high rate of speed eastbound 62nd Street from Vermont Avenue.

On Monday afternoon, December 18, 2000, Riley succumbed to his injuries. Two other victims remain in critical condition and three were treated and released.

The motive appears to be gang-related.

The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.
