Valley Bureau

Operations-Valley Bureau (OVB) oversees operations in the following areas: Devonshire, Foothill, Mission, North Hollywood, Topanga, Van Nuys, and West Valley. OVB has a population of roughly 1.8 million people and encompasses 226.47square miles, the largest geographic bureau in the Department.

Our diverse communities and locations include one of the largest malls in the U.S., Westfield Topanga and the Village. We are also home to Hansen Damn, Universal Studios, Lake Balboa, the NOHO Art District and the San Fernando Mission, built in 1834.

The mission of Operations-Valley Bureau (OVB) is to support and develop all OVB personnel as we focus on:

• The reduction of crime and fear of crime
• The delivery of prompt, courteous and professional service to the community
• Providing excellence in leadership and management
• Continuing growth of community partnerships to reduce crime and address quality of life issues

• Identify New Strategies for Persons Experiencing Homelessness
• Enhance reserve Officers Deployment
• Expand Juvenile Diversion Programs
• Tracking of Gun Offenders/Prohibited Possessors
• Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness
• Reduction of Traffic Collisions
• Expand Community Youth Programs
• Increase Community Involvement and Intern Programs
