Los Angeles: Los Angeles police detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding any witnesses who saw the attempt robbery and shooting of a man in South Los Angeles on Monday night.
On September 4, 2006, at about 8:45 p.m., Cesar Eduardo Reyes, a Hispanic man, 38, was standing in front of an apartment building in the 1300 block of West Maryland Street, when a car drove up to the driveway. A group of men began talking to Reyes from the car. One of the men, armed with a shotgun, got out of the rear passenger seat of the car, walked up and demanded money. The man with a gun then shot Reyes in the stomach. The suspect got back in the car and left the location.
Reyes was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The car was described as a dark blue or green mid ’90s four-door Honda.
The shooter was described as a Hispanic man about 6’1″. The driver of the car was a Hispanic man wearing a black jersey with white lettering. The right front passenger was a Hispanic man with a white tank top and tattoos on both arms.
