Why:
Both the Los Angels Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have joined forces with the Mayor of Los Angeles and the City Attorney to remind everyone not to shoot in the air to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

A series of public service announcements (PSA) featuring Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa have been supplied to TV stations to publicize this campaign.
