Douglas Burrows was killed in his car at 9th and Stanford Street in downtown Los Angeles on May 1, 1993. The driver of the 18-wheeler escaped to Mexico.
Investigators from the Central Traffic Division never gave up on finding the driver. In the last two years, Detectives worked with members of the US Marshals, Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force to find and capture the driver.
On June 20, the driver was detained at the US-Mexico border on the felony warrant. Detectives and the Marshals task force brought the man back to Los Angeles for prosecution.
