Los Angeles: A 47-year-old man was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in South Los Angeles.
On September 5, 2007, at about 2:15 a.m., the victim, Herbert Stevens III, was standing in front of a residence in the 1700 block of West 39th Street. A gold sedan containing four Black men pulled up to the victim and one of them shot Stevens with an unknown type of firearm. Stevens was struck with gunfire and collapsed to the ground as the suspects drove away.
Stevens was taken to California Hospital for treatment, but died a short time later.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
