Los Angeles: A female pedestrian was struck and seriously injured Wednesday morning by a 27-year-old female driver who fled the scene, but was subsequently arrested.
On July 2, 2008, at around 2:00 a.m., a 1999 Mercedes Benz being driven by Heather Auger, was travelling southbound on La Cienga Boulevard. As Auger crossed Waring Avenue she struck a 27-year-old pedestrian crossing eastbound on Waring Avenue at La Cienega Boulevard.
Auger did not stop to render aid or identify herself as is required by law. The victim’s friend jumped into a nearby car that was being driven by a member of the media, and followed Auger for a couple of blocks before convincing her to stop. They detained Auger until police arrived.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and was later listed in stable condition.
In addition to the hit and run, Auger was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was booked for Felony Hit & Run and is being held on $52,500 bail.
