Joint Symposium on Domestic Terrorism

What:         
Domestic Terrorism Conference, in cooperation with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).  
   
Additionally, personnel from four law enforcement agencies will be honored for their outstanding contributions in combating Hate Crimes.

Why:          
Over 200 law enforcement officers from across California will gather to learn tactics and procedures to counteract extremist activity.
   
The media is invited to attend the welcome ceremony from 8:30-9:00 a.m.; a session on Emerging Trends in Domestic Terrorism from 9:00-10:00 a.m.; and a luncheon during which sixteen law enforcement officers from four different agencies will be honored and awarded the Sherwood Prize for Combating Hate from 11:40 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.  
   
The LAPD is proud to announce that eleven of its own members from the Van Nuys Juvenile Impact Boot Camp will be among the honorees.
