GENERAL INFORMATION:
All of Los Angeles is invited to stand along Figueroa Street from STAPLES Center to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to cheer the Los Angeles Lakers players having just won the fifteenth NBA Championship in the franchise’s history. Following the parade, a special rally featuring the players, team officials, Coach Phil Jackson and other special players will take place in the Coliseum. The Coliseum gates will open beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17th for fans wishing to attend the rally. Early arriving fans will be able to watch the parade on giant video screens in addition to being entertained by the Laker Girls and other special guests. As space is limited to the first 95,000 fans, early arrival is strongly encouraged.
EVENT TIMELINE: (Note: These times are subject to change)
11:15 a.m. All vehicles pass by STAPLES Center and L.A. LIVE
11:20 a.m. Official Parade Starts on Figueroa Street
12 p.m. Parade arrives at Memorial Coliseum & Rally Begins
1 p.m. Rally concludes
MEDIA VIEWING/STAGING AREA:
Morning crews may stage on Figueroa until 7 a.m., after which they must move. Absolutely, no sidewalk parking on Figueroa Street. Media vehicles on Figueroa Street and/or the sidewalk after 7 a.m. (except the designated pool cameras) will be towed.
Absolutely, no random boarding of buses during the parade by anyone, including members of the news media.
MEDIA PARKING:
STAPLES Center/L.A. LIVE
Media Satellite Trucks must arrived by 7:30 a.m. to park on Chick Hearn Court between Figueroa Street and Georgia Street in your assigned position. You may park the night before between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Satellite trucks will be able to pull cables from their trucks along the north side gutter of Chick Hearn Court to their assigned position on the street and homerun back to their vehicle.
All other media (TV Talent, Print Reporters, Online Reporter, Photographers, etc.) will be directed to Lot W, located off of Chick Hearn Court/11th Street between Georgia and Cherry Street for $20.00 cash per vehicle.
LOS ANGELES MEMORIAL COLISEUM
Microwave truck parking for Memorial Coliseum event is available on Menlo Avenue. Cables may be pulled into position on Tuesday, June 16th between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Access to Memorial Coliseum on June 17th will begin at 7:30 a.m.
