Los Angeles: Los Angeles police arrested a suspect who allegedly attacked and killed 28-year-old Lindval Baptist with a hammer in South Los Angeles on July 11, 2009.
Detectives quickly developed leads and learned that the suspect, 54-year-old Brian Wright, was last seen at his girlfrield’s home in the 1900 block of West 22nd Street, in Los Angeles. A follow up was conducted at the home and Wright was taken into custody without incident.
In the early morning hours on July 11, 2009, a relative of Baptist discovered him lying face down on the floor in a pool of blood at a home in the 3100 block of 6th Avenue, and called 911. Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that the suspect used a hammer to bludgeon and murder Baptist but did not provide a motive.
Wright was booked for murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
