The LAPD motorcycle officers will be celebrating 100 years of service to the City of Los Angeles with a public event.
The free event will be filled with exciting demonstrations and activities. The day will begin with a ceremonial procession with over 300 LAPD motor officers from the L.A. Coliseum to the Police Academy. After arriving at the Academy there will be an exciting performance by the LAPD Motorcycle Drill Team. There will be displays by motorcycle manufacturers like: Harley-Davidson, BMW Motorcycles and Honda America.
Other exhibitors will include motorcycle retailers like Bartels Harley-Davidson and Glendale Harley-Davidson; along with other vendors. Food will be served by Carl’s Jr. and Sharky’s Wood Fired Mexican Grill.
Visitors to the event will be able to get their picture taken on vintage LAPD motorcycles with historical backgrounds available through green screen technology. Commemorative merchandise including posters, challenge coins, T-shirts, mugs and more will be available. There will be guest speakers from the LAPD, City Council and other dignitaries.
There will also be a blood drive for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, a great cause which the LAPD motor officers have supported for many years. Each unit of adult blood can help save the lives of up to three children.
