Los Angeles:  The Los Angles Police Department (LAPD) and the Community Development Department (CDD), have teamed up to conduct free child seat checkups.

On Tuesday, November 17, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the LAPD and the CDD will be working in partnership to ensure that child safety seats in cars are installed properly and that children are travelling safely.  The inspections will take place at the Rancho Cienega Sports Complex located at 5001 Rodeo Road, Los Angeles, 90016.

During the Child Safety Check Up, parents and caregivers can drive up with their children in their car seats and trained technicians will inspect the installation of the seat, as well as the proper fit of the child in the seat, and complete a check of the car seat for overall safety, as well as for any recalls that may have been issued for it.  

Anyone wishing to attend this event is strongly encouraged to call and make an appointment to confirm a time and to avoid lengthy waits, or the possibility that they will not be accommodated at all due to the potential for a large turnout.  To make an appointment please call:
