Why:
The march is a community-driven effort that brings together local churches, neighborhood councils, government agencies, community groups, business owners and local residents committed to ending gang violence and promoting peace in Northeast Los Angeles.
At the end of the march, 40 organizations will offer their time and resources to give community members information to help make life better. The event also features local talent performing at the Sycamore Grove Park Band Shell, from noon to 4 p.m.
**Luis Rodriguez, author of “Always Running” a book about life in a gang, before and after a life changing encounter, will also speak and sign books.
