38-Year-Old Motorcyclist Injured in Hit and Run Collision NR11045gb

Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) South
Traffic Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a
driver who struck a male motorcyclist as he rode his motorcycle in
South Los Angeles.

On Monday, January 14, 2011, at about 10:10 p.m., the 38-year-old
motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King
Boulevard when he was struck by a dark color Honda or Toyota,
4-door passenger car. The suspect’s vehicle was traveling
westbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard, and fled onto southbound
Normandie Avenue after the collision.

The driver of the Honda/Toyota was a male Hispanic with black hair
and brown eyes. He stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs
about 250 pounds. The driver left the scene without rendering aid
or identifying himself as required by law.

The motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries and was transported to
a local hospital. He was treated and released.

Surveillance video from a nearby business captured the images of
the driver and the passenger, but the image of the driver is
unidentifiable. Detectives want to talk to the passenger for
questioning only in connection with this hit and run
incident.
