Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) 77th Area Criminal Gang Homicide Group detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) who shot and killed a 32-year-old South Los Angeles woman.
On Friday, April 29, 2011, around 12:15 a.m., 77th Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 57th Street and Wilton Place. When the officers arrived, they saw a female in the driver’s seat of a parked car suffering from gunshot wounds, the victim was unresponsive They also spoke to a man who told the officers that he was also in the car.
Los Angeles City Fire Department Personnel responded and transported the woman to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The woman was later identified as Kristy Ann Roby.
Detective’s investigation revealed Roby was sitting in the driver’s side of a parked 2011 Silver Hyundai Elantra along with a male passenger. The car was facing west on 57th Street just east of Wilton Place, when two male African Americans driving in a black 4-door Infinity sedan drove past the parked car, made a u-turn and pulled next to Roby’s car. The suspects rolled down the passenger window and shot Roby hitting her numerous times. The car then sped away from the scene.
Both suspects are described as male African Americans with no further description and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
