Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division (CTD) detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating anyone who may have witnessed a severe traffic collision in which a woman has been fatally injured in the Westlake area.
On Saturday, August 6, 2011, around 6 a.m., 49-year-old Los Angeles resident Demetria Divas was walking across Temple Street in a marked crosswalk at Benton Way when she was struck by a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero that was being driven by 58-year-old Lucrecia Landingin of Los Angeles. The vehicle was making a left turn when the collision occurred. Landingin left the scene of the collision but later turned herself in to the LAPD.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel rushed Divas to a local hospital where she died a short time later.
